Ok I'm Looking to start a degree in Music Tech in Maynooth in September but can't find out what points or requirements I need to get onto the course. I've completed my leaving cert and at the minute I'm in my second and final year of a Higher education course(National Diploma In Music Technolgy at BMC Belfast).
This last month I've been ringing Maynooth trying to see if they have any new information for me about my situation and I'm getting nowhere with the women on the phone, she's telling me just to convert my ucas points to cao points but I explained to her that I'm doing a higher education course and could she give me any info as I'm coming from a National Diploma course and trying to get into a degree course but, she wasn't really helpful. Rang CAO they told me to get in contact with Maynooth and they'll tell me everything so, instead of ringing them again I sent an e-mail to the two main heads of the Music tech department and still haven't received any word back from them after a nearly 2 weeks.
Anyone have any problems like this before with Maynooth before ?

I am not making excuses, but the University has just finished examining students and each department is very busy trying to get results sorted and handed back - as well as preparing for Semester 2. Wait until mid-February. You should hear something back by then.

    Hope this helps.

Have you considered making a day trip down to Maynooth? And then just pop into the department and wait there until someone will see you :) It may be easier to get an answer in person.

Or, if you know anyone in Music Tech in Maynooth they may be able to drop by for you. But the whole college is pretty much off this week, the new semester only starts next week. Patience may be your best bet for the moment. If you hear nothing back by the second week of February (like Liber8or suggested) then more drastic action may be required.:D

Thanks for the reply's lads. Forgot about January being a busy month for exams and stuff think I'll wait it out a bit more before getting in contact again. Actually was thinking of making the day trip down in mid Febuary as I've a week off class then and my brother had been in the Uni for 6 or 7 years so he should no his way about the place.:)
