Hi there. Just wanted to check something with you guys who would be more in the know than myself.

I've deferred my current year in college until next September. So I've nothing to do until then. I've been looking for work but there's very little out there so I haven't had any luck as of yet. I'm planning on continuiung my search but was wondering would I be entitled to any sort of welfare while I kept looking?

My place in college is being held for me until September. I'm assuming I'm not entitled to anything??

There is only one way to find out,go down to your local welfare office and ask

If you are actively seeking work, then you entitled, subject to means test etc. Get a letter from your college saying you're no longer a registered student and apply to your local social welfare office.

Yes, you may be entitled to Jobseekers allowance. It's a means-tested benefit.
