Which Bose dock are you getting? Just having a quick look at Bose's website, they all seem to be compatible with iPhones/ iPods. Might be worth dropping in to one of their shops if there's one near you or give them a call.

I have the older version myself, it doesn't support the iPhone :( I was actually in the Dundrum shop yesterday about getting my dock fixed, the connection is gone on it. Helpful guys in there.

the ipad needs a ten watt charger afaik. iphone /ipod are only 5 watt normally so be make sure you check before you buy.

There is a number on some Bose devices that they can tell if it's in warranty or not. I had an issue with head phones of theirs that I got as a gift and they replaced them for me based on this number (it's a manufacturing date number). I'm not sure where you'll stand as I don't know if their warranty is transferable. I do know they have a flat fee for repair of the docks though, it is €89 all in and you get your dock back within 10 working days.
