Could anyone recommend a bike for daily commuting?

    Hi Guys,

    I'm looking to get a bike through the bike to work scheme for the daily commute - about 10 miles eachway on cycle tracks and roads. I think I need a good hybrid bike with a light frame? Or is there anything else I should be looking for?

    I'm going to spend the max €1,000 on all the gear so I guess that leaves a budget of €700-800 for the bike - could anyone recommend a decent bike in that budget? And a participating retailer where I could pick it up? I've been looking at Giants, Lapierre and Treks but I don't know which are decent and which aren't...

    Any help would be much appreciated!
