RTE, TG4 & TV3 are not showing it, either are any of the sky stations.
I think we will be resigned to reading the match report in the paper tomorrow.
A real pitty it would have been very interesting to see how the fringe players and tony "buckles" buckley got on tonight.

    don't think so

I heard that RTE was willing to broadcast it online if a local station provided equipment (RTE would share the cost) but they couldn't get a local partner

That said I don't have a good source for that

    Not being televised live.
    * Please note that there is no live television coverage of this game. We will have a match report on the website as soon as possible after full-time.

I think if this match had been played in Ireland either RTE or BBCNI would have covered it live. Although next Friday's match vs England Saxons is not being covered it clashes with Wales vs England which both RTE/BBC are obviously contracted to show. I honestly cannot remember the last time a Scotland A home game was covered live on TV.

Ha I actually emailed the irfu yesterday in work to inquire about this. Only BBC ALBA have the tv rights and they're only showing highlighs so there's no chance of catching this live. I was really interested on watching this.

    muck,

this would be better than most ml games!!!!!

  • They've made it as hard as possible to see this game.

Stadium is a 2 hour bus journey from Edinburgh, not on tv, single camera highlights at best I think.

    Disaster

Is it on Club TV at 23.45? Only programme that seems sport orientated.

Last time the two sides played (at RDS), there were around 150 people there (if).

  • they said 3.5k there on the radio tonight.

Massively impressive considering I saw Edinburgh's last HEC game vs Cardiff the other weekend and probably had less than 6k at that.

Free parking/free admission/free match programme may have had something to do with it. Wish IRFU would do this with 'A' games here. Next Friday's match vs England Saxons will cost my son and I £20 and if we wanted to sit in the stand it would be £32.

If the SRU could charge stg£20 at the gate, you can bet their keyster that they would.

Unsure of the point you're making - the match had free admission so why free in Scotland and not here?

The crowd would have been a fraction of what it was if the SRU had charged.
    Same sport. Very different market.
