Pat Kenny just stated at the beginning of his program there'll be a debate on relegion later this morning, Atheist v theologian.

    Should be interesting.

Just finished. Nothing too exciting to be honest.

The "theist", Gina Menzies, sounds more like some fluffy Deist than someone who'd really be up for a scrap with Prof Dennet.

'Twas more of a chat than a debate, really. :)

If only all religious were as moderate as Gina Menzies, there would be no need for this forum.

She stated that god speaks in many different ways to different people, ie different faiths, and that's the christian view.

I was at a funeral mass last week and the central message, stated many times was 'follow christ and you will be accepted into his kingdom', inferring that if you don't you won't.

She's far too moderate for such a debate, more fire and brimstone needed imo.

Meh, not really, as Dades said it was more of a chat than a debate.

It's only ten minutes or so long though, so you won't waste too much of your time to have a listen.

By the way, Newstalk also interviewed Dennett yesterday. You can listen to it at this link (Thursday, 27th January, part 2): http://www.newstalk.ie/programmes/all/the-right-hook/listen-back/
