Most "generous" data allowance?

I am changing residence soon and am looking into moving from UPC to mobile broadband.

My biggest concern is data allowance as I'm quite a heavy user.

So far three's 30GB package seems to be the best in this regard.

Anyone know of anything higher or have any suggestions?

    Thanks for reading.

    It's not Broadband.

Do you really need Mobility? That's the main value of Mobile.
Is there no real Broadband available?

Mobile doesn't cope with heavy usage. 30G is over generous as as much as you will get on Mobile. In reality they need 5G to 10G cap to reduce contention/congestion which can be very bad. Mobile is designed for light intermittent usage.

Which operator gives a 30GB cap? I though 15GB (Three) was the largest.

Anyway, moving from UPC to 3G mobile will be a massive backwards step, only do this if you absolutely have to, or because you need mobility. If your new residence has UPC, DSL or good wireless like Digiweb Metro, then get one of those instead. You won't get a 3G service with the kind of cap you're looking for, and any that do offer a high cap, are likely to suffer badly for it.

Three do the 30Gb data usage limit, bill pay only and their highest pre-pay is 20GB.

Just noticed to that Three have extended the so called "introductory promotional offer" to 28.02.2011, they extend it, then extend it again and are still extending it.

OP, keep in mind, as you said your a heavy user, that the 30gb allowance on the bill pay for 3g is entire usage, not just your download usage.

so by browsing websites and watching youtube vids and uploading is all taking away from your 30gb cap.

if you still go for the bill pay on 3g, the dongle is free, but if you want the huawei router its 20 euro on condition you sign an 18 month contract, if you only want to go for a 12 month contract then the router will be 48 euro.

Two plans are coming up. both the same price and both 30gb allowance, but the bottom one looks like its an 18 month contract, the top one doesn't mention contract/????

    Interesting:
    30Gbyte in 300 hrs = 0.222Mbps average speed.

1Mbps average speed for 300 hrs is 135 Gbps

Or 30Gbyte at 1Mbps is only 66 hrs in a month.

Misleading hours? Or honest about average speed?

"Heavy" Internet usage IMO is 120Gbyte to 500GByte a month. UPC have a packages with 120GByte and 240GByte.

Probably using a fairly typical 'browsing' use ..... and if so, not at all dishonest.

Looks like Meteor are also doing the 30GB option now.
    €24.99 for 30GB on a 18 month contract, 12 month contracts are still 20GB.
