i have the old ps3 and after i downloaded the 3.56 update i started having a problem with it. i turned on fifa 11 and started a game, near half time the commentating went but i could still hear the crowd and ball noise, at half time there was a bit of a delay before it went to the half time screen, it then froze and when i tried to turn it off it wouldnt.even when i held the power button to reset it. when i did power it off with the switch at the back, i turned it back on and when i tried to go in to fifa again but this time it gave an error code which i cant remember the actual code. eventually after turning it off and on a few times it worked again but the game froze again in almost the same way, the music went first but i could hear the ball. so basically i am wondering is this a problem with the update or is my ps3 on the way out?

There are numerous reports of an old bug reapppearing in 3.56 that prevents users from upgrading the hard-drive. I suppose there could be more issues with it, as in the op's case. Strange that, Sony making mistakes.

I'm sure it'll be resolved quickly however :)

Yes there is a problem :(:( why did today have to be the firs time I ever tried to open a ps3 up :(

Was trying to take my hard drive out and swap it with my laptop harddrive because I'm gettin a new 750gb for my laptop and was going to swap from a 40gb to a 200gb hdd in my ps3 - all sounded great and was absoultely flying away in the best of spirits and everything fitted in perfectly

    switched on console

I'm now getting the same problem with the ps3 not regocnising the 3.56 update or some ****e like that :(:(

    it'd take my luck :(:(

really hope 3.57 is out soon
