They all have a much bigger budget than the OP.

    I'd be thinking galaxy/alhambra/sharan 1.9 TDI

Slight aside but how did we ever deal with transporting families before 7 seaters arrived?

The Renault Espace arrived in the mid 1980's.

Same way as we managed without dishwashers and sky tv.

Any corolla sized car would easily carry 5 kids back then. Before the days of child seats/belts, penalty points, safety marketing, high expectations etc

Same way we coped with babies before Child seats were invented..

I am doing the same as you right now,

I can only find 4 Honda Odyessy's on carzone just now, all 2001/2002 models. One point about them is middle seat in the second row is a lap belt and not a full 3 point belt, so less safe. Also the back row of seats fold down together, so you can have 7 seats with no boot, or 5 seats and a good boot, really a six seater. The Honda stream has the same drawbacks, but slightly smaller.

The Hyundai Trajet has 7 full seats, all with proper seat belts, am told the petrol version is very thirsty.

You should look at the Ford Galaxy/SEAT Alhambra/VW Sharan (all basically the same car) the 1.9TDi seems a good option, other options include
    • Mazda MPV
    • Renault Grand Scenic
    • Renault Grand Espace
    • Citroen C8/Fiat Ulysse/Peugeot 806 (all the same car)
    • Nissan Cube

Could you, er, not, er, 'do something' to avert that, er....possibility ? ;):D:D:p

Then you'd have no car problem.:)

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”
