Christ, I'll be checking this tomorrow too - I have the big one, and wouldn't mind the smaller one to go with it, they communicate off the one remote and sync light patterns.

must be a local offer, still 99 in galway, and listed as current stock on system so not end of line.

OK let me rephrase more precisely :

Went to Woodies by the kinsale Road roundabout just now and they said all the Mini Philips Living color lamps had been recalled yesterday by Philips due to some fault and that they wouldnt sell them to anyone.

Looks like Coolock might be trying to pull a fast one on Customers

Thanks for the info... was just about to leave work and head down there. You saved me a trip. However, according to Hogzy it's probably just as well. Don't fancy burnin' my gaff down just for a bit of mood lighting.

Couldn't find anything online about a product recall for this product.

The model number for anyone interested is.

    Philips LCS3001

This would suggest to me that there has not been a recall, or that more Woodies are trying to fool customers?

When i was there they had one in front of me and they refused to sell it to me. They said they had a pile of them in the backstock that were removed from the shelves. This was at customer services.
Before that i asked a staff member where they were when i entered the shop. He showed me where they were yesterday and was confused when the whole stand had been taken away.
So they definetly did not "sell out" in Cork

I was there the same time as Hogzy and had a different sales assistant searching the place for one, when she found one she made a call to someone to ask about the reduction and was told that they had been recalled:( I too asked would they sell it at the €20 but no go.
