Facebook Page Help Needed

    Hi, Can anybody help me with this....

    I have a Facebook Page. In order to set up the page I had to set up an account. Which all works fine. But, I do not want people to be-friend me on my main account but just click Like on my page.

    When I click Like on any other page, my name comes up and people can click on it. But they are brought to my main account rather than my page.

    I have seen other sites where I click on the person and it brings me direct to their Page and not their Account.

    Does anyone know how to set it so all links bring to my Page and not my main account?

    Does it not depend where you click? For example, if your newsfeed displays that


    Boards.ie likes GMail


    If you click on Boards, it brings you to that page, and if you click on GMail, it brings you to that seperate page?


    So if wexred likes wexred's "like" page comes up, people clicking on your name go to your personal page, and people clicking on the like page link go to that page.


    Or did i completely misunderstand the question?



    EDIT: Actually I think I know what you mean now.

    I think you have to log out and create a whole seperate 'business' account. That way you can have that as your sole page and 'like' to your heart's content, but the page and your own personal profile will have nothing connecting them. When I set up my "like"/"fan" page, I did it in addition to my personal page, so i can go to "manage pages" and it's there.

    Any activity I do, though, such as commenting on walls, liking links, posting stuff etc. is done under my own profile. The only time I can do anything under my other name (the 'like' name) is on the actual like page itself. If someone asks me a question on the like page, and I want to respond on their own profile, I'll be doing so as myself, and not under the name of the like page.

    If that makes sense?

    Hi are the "personal profile" and "Fan Page" using the same name. Perhaps people are confusing the two.

    I run a number of face book pages and don't have this problem. In fact you should not see the connection between administrators personal profile and the page.

    One problem that you may have is that your own profile will appear in the 'followers' box on the business page. Perhaps your page followers see you there and decide to befriend you?

    You will see on that page Culbann Clay Pigeon Club has clicked like on a number of links. If you click on the name Culbann Clay Pigeon Club from the likes link you will be brought straight to the fan page - not to the personal page the fan page belongs to.

    I am trying to make that happen.
    But instead - exactly as BrianD described - when you click on my name on the likes link it brings you to the personal page.

    Yes BrianD both personal page and fan page are the same name.
    I do not need the personal page - but my understanding is that I have to have one to create the fan page!

    Maybe I am totally getting it back to front - as you can tell not at it long!

    Actually I am a little confused as to what is going on there as I'm only seeing a Page and no sight of a personal profile.

    What you need to do is change the name of the personal page. Use your own name if you like - there's no obligation on you to do any Facebook activity other than update the Fan page. When you update the Page your personal profile won't be revealed - only if you go to like something on your Page.

    What I'm seeing is that if you like a link it's coming from the Page rather than Profile which is something I've never seen before.
