    hi folks
met today with the electrician and was think about mounting the tv above the fireplace in the sunroom.
this will be a stove and have a mantle over it and was wondering does the heat affect the tv?
also where does the sky and DVD player go

We have a wall mounted TV in one of the rooms, we build a custom built in unit nearby to hold the blueray palyer, Sky+ box and the xBox.

You won't be able to recess the tv into the wall its its an existing chimney

I was considering this and even got an ultrathin led

    BUT

    1. despite the build in stove being low enough to ground the tv be to high to be comfortable

    2. there is alot of heat from the stove rising! Alot! the granite around the stove and the wall above get fairly toasty

well, heat is the enemy of any electrical appliance, and based on my own fireplace, I wouldn't dream of putting a tv over a stove, mantle or not.

Secondly though, is the viewing angle. LCD/LED's have a specific viewing angle, and are primarily designed to be viewed at eye height, sitting. Mount it high, and you will have to cant it forward to maintain picture quality.

This is demonstrated quite easily in the tv shop if you walk around, and stand up/sit down, to play with.

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”
