With all the trouble around the Irish Government Bank Guarantee, I was just wondering if they is any legal loophole out of the situation for Ireland?

For arguments sake, say the Minister for Finance was not completely coherent at the time of signing it. Could the country say...look our Minister for Finance was ill and wasn't able to make good decisions ? The guarantee was void?

Is there a precendent for this? Something like an ill CFO (eg. Alzheimers) who signed some contracts, the board find out the CFO made the decisions without his full faculties? And try and get the company out of the contracts the CFO signed?

What are you talking about? It's legislation. The president signed it. It was passed by the Dail....
