Why is there no investigations into FF, bankers, developers, and NAMA.

If I, you or anyone else was to go on a raging rampage of terrorist attacks across Ireland you can bet your ass the gardai will be hunting you down.

Why hasn't there be anything done yet about cowen, fitzpatrick, drumm, etc?

I believe Leo Varadkar said there would be. But, I don't have a link to him saying it. It was on radio.

'white-collar' crime is not criminal. The destruction of this nation is, politically yesterdays news. We have an election comming. All problems will be solved.

We must change this system. I have but one vote and I cannot decide yet how to use my vote. I have one vote and do not know which way I shall use my preferences. If I judge wrong I might give a mandate, for four to five years for some people to legitimise what they do in my (and yours) name.
    Democracy is great, isn't it?

As far as i know sean fitzpatrick is been investigated but as to cowen im not aware of any crime he has commited other than murder when he helped to murder the economy and 400,000 jobs with it. Im no fan of cowen or fianna failbut the gardai cant be wasting their time imagining that cowen has commited a crime and opening an investingation on the basis of nothing but public hate.

Simply put because they are easy scapegoats for the likes of Paul Gallagher, the Attorney-General, and Dermot Gleeson, the AIB chairman and himself a former Irish Attorney-General (both Bilderbergers), who in bigger part forced the government into including private bank debt into sovereign debt and seek an IMF/EU bailout.

Even if there was they are all buddies and no one is going to get charged even if they robbed millions from the country and have their houses outside the country.
Is it true Bertie doesnt even have a bank account in Ireland :D

    Negligence?

Anglo Irish bank was never the bank of irish citizens. It dealt with developers. Not mortgage holders. Anglo should never have been guaranteed but they gave a blanket guarantee to that bank, which in turn sank us.

The deficit - would it be as big today if the government did their job and concentrated on the nation and Irelands recession instead of concentrating on banks, developers and NAMA and allowing the decifit to spiral out of control.

The government has been severly neglectful to the irish citizens. If a doctor was neglectful in his/her job causing harm to another person or people he/she would find himself/herself in court.

Well a proper functioning democracy like Iceland is taking their former premier to court for gross economic negligence (I think that's the charge) and also two of the directors of Kaupthing bank, their Anglo.

OP has a good point. One cavaet though, and that would be to impose a time to live condition on any inquiry so as it will product a report within a certain time period.

Well, once a new government is installed it will be a government with no special intrest in defending institutions they didn't create or decisions that they didn't make, so I'd imagine that it's highly likely that there be a few enquiries into the decisions of the previous regime that could provide a bit of accountability.

That said, I hope the incoming government find some new formula to proceed that doesn't involve a tribunal that takes 15yrs to come to a few sketchy conclusions and only really manages to make a bunch of lawyers incredibly rich.....

because they dont have the political will/dont want to, pure and simple.. a few feathers will be ruffled for media spin.. they will all walk off into the sunset as has happened previously.. until we have a new constituition this will not change, get over it

The rich and powerful run the show. They would have too much to lose if the truth came out. They also know alot about one anothers dirty linen and if some stepped out of line the dirty line would be put on show.

Anyway the normal Josephines/Joes are going to pay off the debts so the people that run the show have nothing to worry about.

Now if the rich and powerful were even asked to contribute then ? ? ?

We have two reports about the banks

    1. Gov of Central Bank completed a report called the Honohan's report

    2. There is a report called The Regling Watson Report On Banks

    3. Drumm Is under investigation In Ireland

    4. Fitzpatrick is under investigation In Ireland

    5. There is no law against playing a round of golf.

It seems we want to wrap ourselves up in the blame culture with reports and investigations into the reports and investigations until we all get dizzy. or perhaps there is a ploy by people who are concerned that Labour has dropped 11% since last poll in September and want to deflect from the issues of tomorrow by re hashing the issues of yesterday.

So you are calling for further investigations. Would these be like the last investigations which you consider as tokenism b---sh-t. And after that should we investigate the investigations or do you want to continue the investigations until YOU get the result YOU want.
