With petrol so high i think its time to change to a small carvan, help out on my uncles farm alot so im sure i will actually use it so i need something that wont let me down, was looking at ford connects they seem pretty good just not sure how they will be on the road with the high roof but i can see the advantages of them, maybe an opel Combi ? or should i stick 2 something more like a car

Anyone any ideas from personal experience ?

Iknow lots of the ex post vans are going pretty cheap at the moment so long as u dont mind driving a bright green one ! Had a french car b4 great for the extras just the mechs were the prob so im a lil against the french stuff, would love a ford caddy but pretty expensive

I had a berlingo van ('03 (70k miles), bought it about 18 months ago and sold it again about 6 months ago! Was a ball of dirt right from day one! The only good thing I can say about it was the engine never failed to start. Just about everything else went wrong with it though! it was the non turbo 1.9 and was as slow as a wet week! I'd avoid like the plauge!

Driving a VW golf carvan now ('01..105k miles). Have it 6 months and have had no real problems besides having to replace a brake servo. It has poke, its comfortable and if your doing long journies (sp?) its just like driving a car.

I've heard that the 2.2 almera vans are a great yoke and are seriously quick. couldn't afford the insurance on a 2.2 though :(

Not sure where your based but there's a guy near me who buys and sells cars and he seems to shift a load of these ex post vans and they are cheap as chips!!

Why the Hell are they ditching an 08 with 12k?
They probably bought it new for less than that though :-)
