Apartment search in Spain

    I've been looking all over the internet and can't find a decent site advertising apartments to rent long-term in Spain (girona).

    Is there something i'm missing? Like is there a universal site dedicated to this sort of thing? Only sites I can find only have 2-3 apartments per city with no photos either.

    Any help appreciated!

    The three that I've used are;

    http://girona.loquo.com/en_us similar to gumtree, has loads of ads for everything, but is probably the best place to find property directly from the owner.

    http://www.casas365.com/ is quite good, mostly agencies use it but there is generally a large selection of properties covering most budgets.

    http://www.yaencontre.com/index.php?PAIS=1&LAND=_ENG this is a sister site of casa365 but has a better layout, allows you to search properties by map and has more properties listed.

    Keep in mind that long term rentals are for up to 5 years, short term are under a month and mid term are in between under a year. Good luck!

    Thanks for the reply, in your opinion what should I be expecting to pay for a single room sharing?

    I don't really know about Girona, but in Barcelona you'd be looking at a minimum of €300 for a basic room in an okay location.

    http://girona.loquo.com/ce/housing/rooms-for-rent-shared/302 are showing shared flats from between €200 and €300, so this is probably a good starting point. Be aware of scams too, if there is no email or phone on the ad its not a good sign.

    I'm guessing that you're moving there to live, if so, check out this forum http://boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=213. More likely to get more relevant answers from people who have lived there.

    . . . and if it is a room (or an apartment etc) when you are quoted a price, just make sure the accommodation is furnished. Some years ago, I rented accommodation in Spain and when I showed up there was no fridge, no chairs, no bed etc. If I can remember rightly there was only water and electricity.
