Help with Dial Up Connection via Huawei??

I'm unsure if anyone can help with this issue that I am having. This might seem long winded but I'll try give you all as much information as I possibly can about my problem.

In my work we have a system that dials out via a 56k modem in the event of an error on the system. The modem dials to a third party who in turn sends a text message to the nominated people alerting them of the error.

My problem is that this third party company no longer supports calls from land lines which the modem is using. The third party service will however accept calls from mobiles. My company is running on a seriously tight budget so I cannot afford to buy dedicated GSM Modem and pay for the installation / configuration. Nor can I afford to update the software that we use so I'm stuck with what I have.

What I am trying to do is use a Huawei 3G modem to dial out. The model is a Huawei E1752 and the reason I'm using this is because Voice Calling is enabled on it (I was unable to activate voice calling on my e220). I should also mention that I am using a voice sim here and not the sim that came with the 3G modem (I cannot make voice calls from the sim that came with it)

When I use the latest version of "Mobile Partner" software, there is an option for Voice Calling. This works perfect and I can dial out to any number I want. Unfortunately, the software cannot access the Mobile Partner application which finally brings me to my problem.....

.... I need to create a standard windows dial up connection that uses the Huawei modem instead of the internal 56k. I can create the connection and set the number (don't need username or password) but when I hit the connect button I get the error "Error 678: The remote computer did not respond"

I cannot figure out why it can dial out using the Mobile Partner software but it can't by using the dial up connection.

I've tried searching the net for a solution but I haven't found a solution to the issue. A couple of hits mentioned AT commands but I've had no success finding out if I need to use them, what command I use or how to add them to the dial up connection (I assume it's through the Extra Command field in modem properties??)

Sorry, forgot to mention that it's XP I'm using although at home I have Vista and 7 and I've encountered the same problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated because the frustration level I'm at currently is driving me crazy.

    Thanks in advance

    Niall

Here's How just head for the bottom scroll box and scroll through it and it has all the info there. Its not obvious but head for Error 619 on the page then in the scroll box below it shows you how to make a dial up connection for all the Windows operating systems and change the AT command to include the APN for the one you need. Check on the Mobile Partner software for the APN you need.

Don't use the Mobile Partner software that comes with the dongle but load it anyway just so you get the drivers loaded then its as above. You might also need to stop the Mobile Partner software from loading at start up and whenever you want to connect.
