They should be, CIDs can be awarded in any place of employment not just teaching. It's a labour law thing not a teaching thing.

And it's EU law at that!

Can someone clarify it possible, is it CID that is awarded to someone if they work for over 3 years 11 months? Is it comparable to a permanent position, or is it a sort of in-waiting permanent contract?

    Thanks in advance

This doesn't answer it as the moratorium did not come in until November.

Over 4 years. And in teaching you can still be let go at the end of your fourth year. Essentially if you are not eligible until you start your fifth year.

There are a couple of threads on here about the status of CID as a permanent contract, have a read of them.
