03 BMW 320D smoky when planting the boot

In the past year I've noticed that when I plant the boot that my car is starting to leave a cloud of black smoke behind (it's a pretty cool James Bond effect nonetheless!).

    It's an 03 BMW 320D E46. I have it serviced regularly.

I think it's only happening when the turbo is engaging.

Any ideas how to stop it happening?

Have a Nissan Pathfinder was doing the same, used an injector cleaner to add in with fuel, seems to have done the trick!

I got a 5Litre /gallon 'can' of Dipetane a month ago for a smoky diesel for NCT.It reduced smoke by at least 70-80% and flew through.MPG has also improved .I doubt it pays for itself and you certainly wont save much (net) on fuel but I would recommend getting the 35 euro can and giving it a go.
