    Evening Chaps et Ladies!

    Viewing a 1.6 zetec which seems to have white smoke coming out when the rev counter goes over 3000 and also when it starts from cold.
    Oil is looking very thick when ive dipped it and seems to be very rich..ie too much. Could just be that? or maybe more? No smoke comes out when the car is warmed up and running.
    The guy last did a service a year ago. Very low mileage

    White smoke from cold might be water vapour which is normal.

    Check the oil when cold. Is the level over the max on the dipstick? Ask who did the last service and what oil was used.

    Yup level is over the max,a fair bit over.
    Last time oil was put in it was Monday but unsure what kind of oil...also the mileage for a 00 is painfully low...65 thou...its not driven much at all by current owner.
    Seems a good buy,engine sounds great,very smooth..but! no smoke without fire im fearing

    Too much oil is as bad as too little. I'd walk away tbh.

    p.s. Low mileage is a good thing if the car has been properly serviced.
