    Can anyone recommend the cheapest place to buy legal Microsoft Office. Just need Word/Excel/Powerpoint?

    I'm aware of OpenOffice and use it myself, but it won't do in this case.

    thanks

    I was reading another thread for this. If you are a student there are some great deals otherwise not so much.. Will try to remember the student sites, but you need proof

    Thanks. I know about the student deals, but can't avail of them unfortunately.

    Guess I'm just hoping that someone somewhere is having a sale at the moment!

    if your working, your company might have microsoft licensing that makes you eligible for the home use program.
    it allows you a copy of office for 12.95

    Damn, I'm afraid I can't avail of that offer either. I'm helping a mate set up a small office. It's important to him that it's legal software though, and I'm amazed at how expensive it is!

    It's coming in at €350 per computer for MS Office Standard. Damn!

    Does anyone know if there are ever any sales on MS Office, might be worth waiting for one if they come up from time to time.

    If either of you have children, then your cheapest option by far is www.software4students.ie. Office 2010 is €64.49 and can be used on 2 computers.

    €223 from amazon for home & business license if you want to keep it all above board

    Thanks. I certainly do want to keep it above board.

    I haven't been able to find much online about Adgyro, they seem to be either new on the scene or else to have a very small repuation. I wonder if they are a fly-by-night.

    Anyone know either way?

    Looks very dogey.

    From the site :

    * 2.3. The software purchased cannot be registered with the manufacturer. Though all updates and system upgrades are available for you;

    * 2.4. Printed documentation and license are not available;

    Okay,
    Do you have an absolute requirement for Microsoft office?
    The majority of people dont require office at all.
    I would suggest Open Office:
    http://www.openoffice.org/ Everything you would want to know there.

    EDIT - I see you are aware of OO already. Can I ask why it isnt sufficient in this case?
    Or failing that - something such as google documents.
    http://www.google.com/google-d-s/tour1.html

    Both free - some with unique features.

    I am fairly surprised that companies dont use either more - for the vast majority of functions are within open office.

    Failing that and OFFICE is a complete requirement then you'll probably be looking at roughly 90 euro min to buy a basic copy.

    You can buy it from that site and pretend you are in university. Although I bought it when I was in uni :P

    www.software4students.co.uk has a cheaper price ;)

    Would OpenOffice suffice until your mate got the business up and running?
