As far as i know he is looking to do this ( and according to his facebook) and I read somewhere that Cragg was down for an assault on the Irish record for the half too though i cant find the link to that anymore. Dunno how much truth there is in this given he ran one two weeks ago

Is there any online feeds for this marathon?

i have a sneaking suspicion fagan could break the irish marathon record this weekend. his mate brett gotcher did 2:10 there last year and Fagan is better than him.
    Fingers crossed.

This might be one of the best chances he ever gets to win a big marathon:

Since when is Fagan better than Gotcher at the Marathon, maybe he is faster at the half but Gotcher has 2.10 to his name. Remember different strokes for different folks and all that.

According to the Houston news the race could be delayed 2-4 hours or even shortened to a half marathon due to bad weather..

The same thing happened last year before LA marathon only then he twisted his knee in the lead up to the race. Maybe his coach should have Fagan run a few strides on grass in the week of the race not hammering 200s and 400s on the track. What works for some does not work for others. Fagan can seemingly handle the mileage but cannot transition to speed work in the taper. This should have been changed following last year but instead Fagan after another 16 week 140 mile a week build up is left dejected and dishearted.

What's the logic behind doing speedwork coming up to the marathon? Seems backwards to me - I thought you should do fast work early and more specific work later on.I would also have thought McMillan would know a lot more than me!

Do you know much about his training? He's obviously very fragile, does he do anything to work on this or is it just hope for the best each time. Unfortunately I wasn't even surprised to hear he dropped out injured. I was shocked when I read thirstywork2 saying he had finished.
