Sounds a bit too cheesy to me, but it might work with some girls. Just go up to someone and strike up a normal conversation - that's a better idea. With some practise you'll get the hang of it soon enough ;)

To be fair, there's a good chance they're out for a bit of craic and to have some banter with the lads, so they'll probably be friendly enough (though there are some rude, snobby bitches out there, just don't let them put you off trying). Just find something to say about the club or the music or the price of drinks (etc etc) and take it from there.

That said, cheesy chat up lines can be a good ice-breaker if it's obvious you're havin' a laugh and you pull it off right :P.

    God, I'm cringing for ya!

If you are really confident, both had a few drinks and think and can pull it off, sure, go for it! But otherwise there's be a lot of cringing, embarrassment and probably rejection.

Why not ditch the chat-up line and just be yourself?

In my lengthy and varied experience, I have only had a 'line' work once ever, and, if I'm honest, I was already in there anyhow.
Don't do it. Try, a simple 'hey, how's it going?'

Another point, from someone much wiser than I: A beatiful girl has been complimented on her looks all her life... be original.

Absolutely no to chat up lines.
Girls aren't aliens, speak to them the way you would meeting a friend of a friend or something.
Say "hi, how's it going?", "would you like a drink?", "God, this place is packed", etc.
You'll be able to gauge whether the girl is interested by her response to these conversation openers. Be friendly, smile, be yourself! Compliment the girl but not too much, you don't want to appear insincere or desperate.
Girls in packs can be mean sometimes, so don't be disheartened if you get shot down.

    What do you do?
    Are you in college?
    Do you work?

Or, from my memories of this game, it was usually more like... "deadly tune, eh? fancy a drink?"

To be honest, if you have to really work at the conversation end with a girl, it's probably not going to fly anyhow, unless she's irresistibly attracted to you, in which case you could blather on about the weather and what a load of w4nk FF are and it wouldn't matter.

'cos you will be... loads. But it hones your technique too... you learn to spot the possibilities from the bitches a mile off and save yourself yet another humiliation.

IMO a line like that would work on very few girls. Anytime anyone has said a line like that to me I cringe on the inside and on the outside I don't even know how to respond.

Just talk to her like you would anyone else. Girls are people too! Say something like "Hey, how's it going? You having a good night?" If she responds positively, cool. If she isn't into you, you'll know by her response. If that happens just move on. Don't waste your time trying to change her mind.
