I think I should probably feel slightly embarrassed but I've never dyed my hair. Well that's not entirely true, I've dyed it bright pink at 16 but never gone into a hair salon like a proper adult and had highlights or lowlights or anything! I'm seriously low maintainance :o

But it's our engagement party Saturday week and I'd really like to look incredibly fantabulously amazing so I was thinking of getting something done to my hair colour-wise except I have no idea what to ask for! (when I get it cut I go in clutching a picture from a mag). Would anyone be kind enough to suggest what I should have done?

My hair is very dark brown to just past my boobs, is straight with a lot of life and is in good condition. Basically nice hair but in need of oomph :D

    Sorry for the awful pic!

Eh, you're hair is AMAZING! Why change it?!? It looks really healthy and shiny imo. I'd treat yourself to a deep conditioning treatment, a trim and blow dry and leave it at that. If you really want ooomph the hairdresser could do an upstyle?

Speaking from experience, once you go down the hightlights/colouring path you're stuck with it. In my opinion you have a lovely natural hair colour, I wouldn't mess with it!

I wouldnt change it either. I would kill for your hair's length, health and shine!

Please do not change you hair!! It is fab! I'm so jealous. Maybe if you want a change for your engagement party get it done by a professional...an up do or even go in and see what they could recommend (But don't let them cut it either :))

Congrats on the engagement by the way :D

You could get lighter browns put in as lowlights (?) or copper tones underneath your t-bar. As in, you only would see it as you moved your hair and would also help disguise any roots. Plus it would be easier to get rid of.

If any of that makes sense at all. Don't know how else to describe it.:o

Right so I need a smily for serious embarrassment!

Thanks everyone for the lovely things about my hair :D I'm a girl after all so there are looooooooooads of things I HATE about myself but my hair has always been reasonably well behaved ;) And don't worry about it being cut too short, I literally get to the hairdresser every 6 months as work is hectic and I hate sitting still.

I was playing with the idea of just popping into a salon and asking them what they'd do but then they would obviously have a vested interest in doing lots and I'm really not keen on the I've just been to the hairdressers look (although I love when my hair is blow dried, magic!) which is why I came here :)

Oh and thanks for the engagement gratz :) It was initially meant to be a drunken party for all our friends to celebrate and has suddenly become 'An Engagement Party' which is inducing the hair terror

Your hair is fab chupi dont do anything drastic. Ive the same colour hair as you and if you're low maintenance hair wise like me, maintaining highlights is a pain and honestly will just dry it out.

If id your length id ask for a fab full volumed loose curl to be put it, very Oscar-ish. Honestly your hair is so gorgeous id stay away from dying it. Ive tried highlights in the past (takes forever to lift dark brown dramatically). A gorgeous style would have far more impact on the night ;)

I'm with everyone else here, keep it the way it is! Gorgeous hair :) I think some really loose curls would be nice. And congrats!

I say chop it all off!

And then send it to me so I can make a gorgeous wig. :D

Seriously, don't do much with it. I know you might want a change but your hair is fab. Love the length, style and colour.

Change it to white and gel it up.
