    Hi
I'm a guitarist in Galway looking to start a band( bass, drums, keyboards possibly needed, if you can sing that's good too). I have a reasonable amount of experience but haven't been playing for a while. Got a lot of songs but am totally open to other's stuff, co-writing to create somehting new.. I'm into combining GOOD Country Rock ie. CowPunk(think AC/DC meets Johnny Cash!), Blues/ Heavy Rock/ and , even lighter styles, as long as it is good, and fun.
Check out these videos below, if I can figure out how to get them on this thread. Im not too worried about whether you're into the gear, I don't own a cowboy hat.
Age isn't an issue as long as you can play and are interested in practising and your ego isn't the size of Brian Cowan!
    Rock On!

Galway based singer here. Interesting concept you seem to be on to here. I might be interested.

Hi I wasn't thinking about a singer as such(I can sing in tune most of the time), but that might just be a good idea - worth discussing further - you never know. Can you play a guitar or whatever? Do you have anything recorded? I'm in the process of trying to upload some demos on to a site called Soundcloud and you could hear a few there. Should be sorted on the weekend

The best I can do, recording-wise, is send you a link to my old Metal bands mypace page. I've changed my voice in an attempt for a lower (and hopefully) sturdier effect since then, while jamming in a Classic Rock covers band.
As far as other instruments go, I'm afraid I don't play anything. Just sing.

Here's the myspace link anyways: http://www.myspace.com/freakwencyband

sorry for the delay, we've changed computers. Freakwency was dam good! I'll let you know if I get a few musicians together if you want, no real luck so far, but I'll keep trying!

Thanks, man. Had great fun jamming with Freakwency over the years. Glad you dig it.

Yeah, that's cool, man. No worries about the delay. Keep me posted, and I'd be happy to try out for you.

Also,I've been trying to put together a kinda classic/ alt rock covers band around these parts lately, if you'd be interestesd in that?

Hi I notice that you're looking for musicians to start a country band.

I have been looking to start something similar for a while now.
I have for a long time thought that there is a gap in the Irish Country market for a more upbeat modern, lively (almost dangerous) sounding country band. Your idea of "cow punk" interests me, but punk may be pushing things a little too far. It may just be my interpretation, but Country rock/Country pop/Country Blues may just hit the mark. So long as it's not the croony style which is being toted out in the hotels. Hell, even Mick Flavin has recorded a Toby Kieth song! So, I must be on to something!

I'm primarily a Guitar player, with professional standard acoustic (fingerpicking )skills, pretty good Rock and blues electric skills, and fast developing Country lead guitar skills.
I also play slide guitar, the bass, the Dobro, the mandolin and the banjo. I can sing and I have songwriting skills. I am also currently investigating playing the Lap Steel Guitar.
I teach guitar at the moment but I want to take on the country scene, possibly full-time.

I have very good equipment and I'm prepared to travel.

As your ad says you're not bothered about age, then the fact that I'm now 50 shouldn't matter too much.

Get in touch if your still looking for someone.

Incidentally, i know a drummer and a good bassist here in mayo, but they seem to be reluctant to be wrenched away from their wedding band.
However, a good solid country proposition may just persuade them.

This sounds interesting, I thought that it could be the time for Country Rock! I get the feeling you're probably better then me on the guitar - I'm ok but no Brad Paisley. I've got a lot of songs written from fairly straight country to rock to Blues to folk( so fingerpicking, dobro slide, etc would be fantastic), often tongue in cheek. I know a couple of musicians here too but they are afraid to take on original stuff. Pity. I think to get something going properly, not only do you need a good band, but probably need to think outside the box too. Got some ideas about this when things get going. I'd be happy to meet up and see what happens. Same age as you incidentally! PM me and we'll go from there
