Which tyres should I buy?

At the moment I have black round ones on. Would replacements have to be black and round also?

Seriously!... I don't know what to buy. They're 225 40 R18. The Bridgestones that came on the car are lottery money - €220 each. I had Uniroyals on before at €120 each which seemed grand. The last two sets I had on were cheap Aisan tyres at €65 each and were a disaster... bloody dangerous.

I put the size and "all season tyres" into eiretyres.com but got no results for all speed indexes and all brands. "Summer" and "Winter" searches give hundreds of black and round tyres! Help!

    From eiretyres in summer section

    Falken FK-452 €120.

    Kumho ECSTA SPT KU31 €121.

    Vredestein ULTRAC CENTO €122

All would be decent brands.. Dunlop are in there for about the same price!

    What car is it?
My ZT takes 225 45 18 which are looney money, had planned on buying Falken 912s but spotted bulges on the inside walls on both fronts so wanted them off the car. Local place had Accelera Phi in stock, wouldn't have touched them except they were on a BMW 520i that I had for 6 months, even in the wet on the BMW I found them very very good. So I bought them for the ZT and have them for the last 4/5K miles. Since September so over the bad winter. I find them great. Loads of lads in the UK run them on modern 159s that need a 19" tyre and the reports are all positive.

They are cheap sh1t though that shouldn't be touched according to folks in the know ;)

Used these guys last time, they where cheaper than camskill for what I wanted (Michelin PS3).
List is only a sample, they cater for all budgets.

If you become a member on VAGDrivers you'll get a bit of discount too.

well i got the MICHELIN PILOT SPORT 3 tyres fitted yesterday and the grip is just immense. went for a blast and the places where the tc used to kick in and ruin my fun i just powered on through. i cant recommend them enough. They were €125 each for fitting & balancing 225/45/17
