cleaning throttle body

    Does anyone know if you need to remove the trottle body completly to clean it,

    Car is a 00 lexus is 200 and the trottle body is filthy and my idle rev's are sitting a little high

    You can but usually you don't have to.
    Search for "throttle body" in this forum. I have two write-ups on how to clean it.

    If u want to rly clean it not "clean" it then you have to remove it, but dont forget to reset your computer after cleaning so it learns new settings after cleaning :) Got IS 200 as well :)

    Have you ever done yours, is it hard to remove and clean it properly

    I used do this lots when into tweaking around with cars and can make a massive difference BUT (expert opinion?) cant it wreck catalytic converters if overused ,not done quite right ?

    I didnt but friend of mine did and its like he has new engine inside :P Prepare for tons of black dirt (oil residue) :P
