Just wondering if anyone knows some good hotels which are toddler friendly? Myself and my hubby want to bring our 18 month old for a weekend away soon. I was thinking Cork and heard of Fota Island hotel and the Castlemartyr hotel. I've heard of good hotels in Mayo and Galway too..

Also what's the best solution re: hotel rooms? Do you get something with a suite so you can put the cot into another room? Or would people think self catering is the better option? Our toddler goes to bed at 7.30pm every night so sharing a cramped room and tiptoeing around at 7pm might not be much fun! :-)

Kelly's Rosslare is a good family hotel, I found the Connemara coast pretty good too. Plenty of room, pools and playgrounds.

    Been there, have the t-shirt.....
We have a 20 month old who was just over a year last summer.
Spent time in: Faithlegg in Waterford, self catering mews- 2 bed, once she went asleep we could watch the TV, have a glass of wine
Also stayed in Blarney golf resort, a self catering house, similar set up to Faithlegg.
Both were decent value and allowed us to have a good holiday and a little break from her nibs in the evening

We stayed with trident last year they do holiday homes all around the country. We found them good as baby was young and we were able to invite family down at weekend for no extra cost. Were planning to use them again this year but not sure where in the country to go. Also we got calender from them other day and they doing promo where you can book 1 week and get another free.

We have 3 kids and found the Gleneagle River Apartments fantastic - 2 bedrooms and the hotel bar was very child friendly.

If we go to fota we stay at the quality hotel in redbarn, near youghal, its about 25 mins from fota. Very child friendly, they even got an award for it.

We used to stay a jurys hotel (not the inn) but that was rebuilt and is not really child friendly anymore.

We stayed at Issacs once and they were fantastic with our then toddler and even babysat her while we had a meal for FREE.

I think most hotels accommodate for kids. We've stayed in kenmare (kenmare bay hotel), killarney (springhill court hotel (very child friendly)) the D up in drogheda, doonbeg golf resort, Raddison in limerick, The gresham in dublin, breaffy house co mayo. We stayed in holiday homes in tralee aswell but cant remember the name.

All were great with our kids.
