Check that the dpf has been recharged--200+ euro job if it hasnt. And if hasnt been done it can do the dpf in which is 1k + to get done.

Alternators and abs control units give problems.

Alternator about 550 incl labour to get done.

Abs unit about 700+ to get done.

get the 2.0 td model lovely car, had two in the garage before with big vibration problems not sure is this a fault with them ??

what was the cause of the vibration? , I test drove the volvo mentioned earlier and i drove it for a couple miles, i turned the car around to head back to garage and when i took off (liitle tire spin) to go across the road the car went into some sort of "safe mode" it slowed right down just enough to pull off the road and the error was somthing like wheel slip, abs error, i switched off the car and restarted and it drove ok after, I did not bother to mention it to the sales man as i'd get the usual "needs a service" blurb, any ideas as to what happened?

    Sounds like the Abs module.

My guess is that it said "Anti skid service required" on the dash.

yes that was the error alright, is that common? should i not bother with the car? it is ex sales man car so it could be driven hard etc

Wouldnt bother me to be totally honest. The abs modules are being covered outside warranty by Volvo. As are most alternators.

The Dpf is another thing though--if it hasnt been recharged in time its an expensive job.
