Couple of questions about dish removal, sky installation

Hi, just a couple of questions about sky installation, I am having sky multiroom installed in a house that already has a dish installed for freesat channels. First question is, I intend to remove the original dish as it is not positioned very well, but there will be four holes in the wall. Now I have used polly filler before but I was just wondering if any installers here had any tips or suggestions for the best way to repair drill holes for cabling & wall mounting the dish?

Second question is this, we are getting a sky + HD box in the living room and a standard sky box in the kitchen, I was going to try to pick up an additional sky box for the kitchen off adverts. Would the sky installer wire the kitchen box for sky plus even though its not part of our order? I was also hoping the freesat box upstairs could be connected to the new sky installed dish.

Is it possible to have two sky plus boxes and a freesat box running off a sky installed dish. When I am talking to the installer what is the exact phrasing of the way I should enquire about the possibility of getting him to do it?

    Thanks

    Yes it is possible.
Make sure you ask the installer first when making appointment so he can allocate extra time for the install, and knows to have an Octo Lnb with him. ( you will , of course, be charged extra fot the Octo and the additional cabling.)
Fill the holes with an exterior grade filler or silicone sealant.

The deal we got was for free installation of a sky plus box and a standard box. Who would I be paying the additional cost to?

A sky plus box and a standard box requires a quad-output LNB. If you want an additional connection then it will have to be an OCTO LNB, which is more expensive and won't be included in the installation you requested.

If the installer is honest, he'll bill you on behalf of Sky or simply refuse* to do it. If he's dishonest, he'll charge you "cash in hand".

*As he's not expecting to do an OCTO installation, he may not even have one on the van.

He has to ring me to organise installation. I cant lose anything by suggesting it to him over the phone anyway? All that's required is an octo lnb? Hopefully he is a sound lad and will do me a turn. It'd be great to have them all wired the way I want them.

Surely a quad will suffice for a Sky+ and two standard receivers.
My mistake, I missed the bit about another + box too, sorry.

It would but, as I read it, the OP is wanting Sky+ and Sky+HD and a standard receiver.

So he'll need an OCTO LNB, plus an additional cable, plus additional work (and time). It's a good idea to discuss this with the installer because he may not have the LNB or the time.

Cabling for the freesat box is already done. The only extra cabling would be the extra cable for the additional sky + box. Could I swap the lnb myself if he isn't happy to do it?

OCTO LNBs can certainly be purchased. I can't answer whether you are able to do it but there are some notes about it here:

Well for now, I am just going to ask him when he calls to organise a date for Installation...

Hopefully I will get lucky and he will be an accommodating fella...

Anyone know how many days before installation do the sky engineers call? I want to be ready for them... They are booked in for Friday 11th of February.

    They are not usually Engineers.

It says SKY Engineers on the letter received from SKY. Well the Sky Installers so, do they give much notice?

The Installer/Sub contractor that sky use will Phone the customer between 8am and 9am on the day of the install with an ETA
