    Morning all,

    I'm very lazy and have parked well away from my car to go back and check this early in the morning, what size tyres does my car take, '07 Toyota Avensis Luna model?

    I've the NCT next week and need to get some rubber (badly), I've gotten Pirelli's in the past and was thinking the same again, but no preference to me, as you might have guessed I don't know much about cars

    It should say inside your door sill (near where the door locks)

    It will say it on the tyre itself. That wasn't what the op wanted...

    Way too far back to my car to check the door sill, you don't get a figure like mine by walking to the car un-necessarily :)

    I have to admit I didn't use google correctly, I asked "what tires for my car" or something like that, got a load of reviews for different tyres, not much use to me, changed my search to "what size tyres for my car?" and got http://www.kwik-fit.com/tyre-search.asp Looks like 205/55 is what I need

    And yes, yes I know I'm a numpty

    Depends on what size alloy you have on it, but it's probably a 16" one, and you probably need 205/55 R16's.
    Bridgestone Turanza's are very good, give good grip in wet weather which is what you want, and reasonable mileage out of them too, and actually well priced these days in that size, at €85 each here in Limerick.

    *ahem* check the user name........

    Rang a couple of places there, they have Bridgestone for €80 each, I take it I should take that. Other options given to me were Federal for €70 (they were recommended to me), Semperate/Hancock for €75

    205/55/16 if you have the standard Toyota rims

    The tyre size without having to go back to the car and look. It's clearly stated in the original post.

    Make sure it is Bridgestone Turanza er300 . This is mid class tyre of brigestone and there are cheaper bridgestone tyres too. And buy turanzas for 80 for sure.

    Beside that, make sure tyre production date is not older than 6 months. Because they have limited life even they are not used.You can ask your tyreshop and check them before they put them on. it is a 4 digit number on side walls like

    2309 = 23rd week of 2009
    0210 = 2nd week of 2010
