Lose it, insurance won't insure you against buying a stolen car. So have you bought one that's stolen?

you would have wasted your money buying the car, taxing the car, insuring the car, then happen to be stopped by gardai driving a stolen car. its leaves you and your out of pocket no come back what so ever.

to add to this - if you knew it was stolen before purchase..... you could face a charge of Handling/possession of stolen goods.

and presumably if you found out it was stolen after purchase you would be in deep doo doos if you didnt report it.

theres no upside here is there! :(

Our car was stolen last year and recovered after around 2 weeks (lucky for us as the insurance were not covering it as the keys were in the vehicle and they invoked the clause even though the OH was literally beside the car when it happened) it was sold via done deal and some poor guy had bought it with fake plates and VLC cert...he reported it to the gards and I believe he had absolutely no come back so all of us were rightly screwed over (alot of damage done to our car as well)

I swear if I ever win the lotto I'll find the guy who got ripped off and fix him up as felt bad he had no comeback.
