Mercedes C220CDI Question

    Hi all

I bought a Silver 1999 C220CDI a few weeks back with 142k on the clock. It is a stunning car in almost perfect condition. Common consensus is that they wear really well, are reliable and durable. I am really happy with it

The only issue I have is that i am getting nowhere near the stated 46mpg fuel economy. I get more like 34mpg. I am not a heavy driver, and use the M50 daily so it is fair to say my driving is typical of "combined" driving. I also normally get to within 5mpg of stated fuel economy in the cars I have driven to date

Can anyone suggest what I might do to improve things, or what the issue might be? I dont use the A/C at all.

    Thanks
