Brian Cowen is touring the Middle East and dies of a heart attack [Viral email I got]

While he is on a tour of Jerusalem he suffers a heart attack and passes away.
The undertaker tells the Irish diplomats accompanying him, 'You can have him shipped home for €5,000,000, or you can bury him here in the Holy Land for just €1,000.'

The Irish diplomats go into a corner and discuss this for a minute. They come back to the undertaker and tell him they want Brian shipped home.

The undertaker is puzzled and asks, 'Why would you spend €5,000,000 to ship him home, when it would be wonderful to be buried here and you would spend only €1,000? With the money you save, you could help pay back some of the deficit, improve your hospitals or help the elderly.'

The Irish diplomats replied, 'Long ago a man died here, was buried here, and three days later he rose from the dead.
We just can't take the risk.

I was looking for the remote control and found a 50 pence piece under the couch cushion.

Really OP. What sort of response were you actually expecting?

You've raised more money in two minutes than the current government in a few years.

What was he doing in the Middle East?

I doubt it would cost that much to ship a body across Europe.

He's hard of hearing and heard something about a feast.

They charge a "per kilo" and not a "per corpse" rate.

Perhaps he was looking for baby Jesus, who was kidnapped from a Listowel nativity crib over Christmas?

Nostalgia will never die but erasing the memory of the Cowen administration might be a little bit harder ...

The Daily Mail hasn't reported it yet.

If the Daily Mail hasn't reported it then as far as I'm concerned it didn't happen, subject to change with future updates from the Daily Mail website.

I had my own personal feelings about Mr.Cowen's ability as Taoiseach but upon reading of his death just now I have to acknowledge that maybe he wasn't the worst.

    RIP Brian. :(

The thread title is typical of Thursday morning. Initial hope and good mood immediately stamped out by the truth that your hope was misguided and you still have two days work ahead of you.

Just seen it on Sky now, but it's been on twitter all morning.
    RIP.
