Question on Board Posting & Content / Links

    Hi
I'm new to this forum - it's great to find a site dedicated to the hobby in Ireland for a change.
I've posted a few responses to some of the queries and requests to try and be helpful if I can but I'm totally confused about what is and is not allowed in terms of content and 'links' - there seems to be a very inconsistent approach to this by the moderators ?

One of the recent posts was about Battery connectors - I posted a link to an external site which had a help page detailing battery connector types and descriptions etc but it was removed by the Mod saying it was a 'for sale link' and not allowed

I also posted a link to an external site which maintains a listing of RC car and flying clubs around the country for another poster looking for club info and that was removed by the Mod saying 'no links' were allowed

And yet - when I look through all the other (recent) posts and replies there are Many links to external sites for both selling items directly and/or giving useful information for us all

Can the powers that be clearly explain the 'rules' for me and any other Newbies out there to this forum so I know what is and is not acceptable !

    Many Thanks !

I am surprised you put this on open forum and not in a PM.

This Charter Thread explains the policy.

Before adverts.ie was launched, selling type threads took place regularly, many of these are in the archive.
But the inevitable followups on price, negotiations and suchlike clogged up the forums. Now these threads are placed in adverts.ie and a thread with a single link to the adverts thread is put here.

Your feigned innocence doesn't wash. Your posts were reported to me by both members and mods.
Your first 5 posts all contained a link to the same seller which is apparently yourself. One was deleted and the links removed from 3 of the 4 posts remaining. So it's obvious you joined Boards.ie with the sole reason to shill goods. You might have been banned, but instead your links were removed and one post which you spammed duplicates into two threads was deleted from one of the threads.
Your 6th post was the first with no link in it and with relevant information. Things seemed to be looking up.
Your 7th is this tongue in cheek "confused query" about removal of most of your internet links.
Model forum members can search your posts and see the plug not removed if they wish.

Lenient treatment has been extended to you until now.
Just stick to the rules. It's not difficult. You are welcome if you do.
