Hundreds of Gardai have had their homes, cars and families attacked.

Plenty have had contracts taken out on their lives.

And who will this thug turn to when threatened by one of his own kind? A low, cowarldy act.

I had my own house done 2 years ago, windows smashed and walls graffiti'd. Hard on wife and young kids!

One of the guards down here in Buttevant had his car burnt out a few weeks ago while we were on duty. Not a nice thing to happen to anyone but the peole that carry out the attacks

I can give you an example of a station in the Midlands with a station party of 22.

    In the last 3 years:

    3 graffiti incidents on homes.
    4 cars had tyres slashed.
2 cars brake fluid poured over paint work
Threatening mail directly addressed to the wives of two gardai.

A small midlands town which I'm sure is not unique.

I can think of 10 - 15 incidents from the minor to the more serious in my area. I'm sure with some 10 - 14 thousand people in the organisation there probably would be hundreds of incidents across the country.
