Seems like a very good deal

    - Genuine Kingston SSD now V series
    - Adding an SSD to a desktop already using a standard hard disk drive is a smart and efficient way to
    upgrade.
    - Transferring the operating system and applications from the HDD to the SSD allows the SSD to be used
as a bootable drive that takes full advantage of the Flash-based technology
    - The SSD and the HDD then co-exist to drive optimal performance in the upgraded desktop
    - For notebooks, SSDNow drives are a perfect replacement for hard drives resulting in faster, more
reliable performance. Making this change will improve a notebook's efficiency in a wide range of tasks,
from booting up to running the most demanding operating systems and applications
    - SSDNow uses a standard SATA interface but, unlike a regular HDD, SSD is very rugged and built with no
moving parts, making it ideal for users who push the limits of their notebooks. Other benefits include
reduced power usage, less noise and less heat generation
    - Enhances productivity; makes users more efficient
    - 2.5" form factor; uses NAND flash memory components
    - Runs silent and cool with no moving mechanical parts
    - Less likely to fail than a standard hard drive
    - No moving mechanical parts so the SSD handles rougher conditions
    - Ensures maximum performance on compatible Operating Systems
    - Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology
    - Formatted Capacity: 30GB

    Over on Dabs.ie it's 86 Euro delivered

Tempting, but DX wouldnt be my first choice for genuine products.
Might be fine but returning with any issues would be a pain.

Ya I know what you mean ...I've never ordered off them before but I think the general Consensus is as long as you're prepared to wait you'll get it :D
And SSD are at least pretty sturdy things.

This is coming in from the states no?
So chances are it'll be stopped by customs and you will get a letter requesting the VAT and a €6 handling fee.

i have the v+ 64gb model in my desktop about 2 months now. very happy with it, easy installation and really good ghost software.

its gone EOL (end of life) so thats why alot more retail sites are selling them cheap.

Exactly. And if bought from amazon with full warranty and quick free delivery it's even cheaper per GB than DX :)

30GB is way too little even for a boot drive, you need a little bit of headroom. Consider a corsair f60 or vertex 2e, performance wise its way above ssdnow series especially 30GB ver.

not bad price, nice for system disk if you have hdd for rest of your stuff...

still - customs, warranty - if you feel lucky it may be worth going for it

    if not, check http://www.dabs.ie/products/ocz-technology-32gb-onyx-sata-ii-125r-70w--oczssd2-1onx32g--6P0V.html €58 + delivery

not really worth it, as it's previous gen. - extremely slow
    if you're after one, here's a e65 one:
    http://www.memoryc.com/storage/solidstatedisk/32gbpatriotps100ssd.html
    free delivery in Ireland too
    spec:
    210 MB/sec. read, 150 MB/sec write

    from Kingston site:
    http://www.kingston.com/ukroot/ssd/v_series.asp
    30 GB - up to 180 MB/sec. read, 50 MB/sec write

seems like 3 times slower when it comes to saving onto it and 2GB less

for them to make i have no doubt, cost me 20 though :P have to say they were quite decent about letting me exchange it for credit with them to get a different controller...after about 20 emails between me and someone who obviously was using google english to chinese translator and copy and pasting appropriate replies :P
