Sat Feb 5th Live @ the Retro Revival Club
THE SPIVS (UK) w/ THE REVELLIONS & CANDY & THE CREEPS + THE PACIFICS
@ Sweeney’s Bar (formerly Le Cirk) Dame St. Dublin
Doors: 9pm till 2.30am. Adm: €8 (available on door only)

Thee Spivs are a three piece punk band from London going back to the roots, citing pretty much your Dad’s record collection as their influences; The Sex Pistols, The Adverts, The Clash and The Buzzcocks. They describe their sound as, “fundamentally a mixture of punk and pub rock, 50’s rock n roll and 60’s garage,” and that’s all there is to it.

The Buzz……This is one of the most talked about bands you’ve never heard of……NME

Debut LP Taped Up is a full-pelt Ramones, Rezillos & Billy Childish like 28 minutes of ’77 flavoured livid Punk Mojo Magazine

This young noisy three-piece have come through Liam Watson's White Stripes endorsed Toe Rag studio and studied at the school of punky hard knocks. The Daily Mirror

What to buy: Taped Up is released by Damaged Goods on 15 November, preceded by the single I Don't Want It, out now.

File next to: Dr Feelgood, The Undertones, The Buzzcocks, Billy Childish & SLF.

Saturday Night folks, debut & exclusive only Irish show.

A band of three throwbacks too young to have experienced the glory of ’70s U.K. punk, England's Thee Spivs filter the buzz and cheekiness of some of that era’s underdogs (The Adverts, Eater, The Boys) through the garage-rock thunk of Billy Childish’s Hangman Records' roster. The result is youthful, stupid, tooth-rotting fun.
