    Hey Guys,

Was wondering if anyone here has ever claimed from 123.ie and if so what was their experience like?

I claimed for broken glass, no problems whatsoever.

Just cancelled my policy with them cause they wanted €40 everytime I wanted to do a temporary transfer. Then charged me €40 X2 for cancelling after 3 months. Also kept 40% of the premium. I'll never do business with them again.

Can't imagine they would be any different when sttling a claim.

Never heard of a company doing that before. My policy states I can drive other cars with the owners permission and will be covered...wouldn't really need an actual temporary transfer ever..I'd assume you import cars or something like that, so the car is under your name and requires a transfer? or am I talking out my arse?

I have heard Quinn can be difficult to deal with settling a claim, I have never heard of anyone trying to settle a claim with 123.ie and they quoted me much lower than others

No. I'm not in the trade.

I just bought a new car but still have to sell the old one. I need to be able to drive both on occasion till the other is sold.

I haven't ruled out calling the ombudsman yet.

Generally you just have bare 3rd party cover doing this i.e no fire/theft/accidental cover

I didn't realise...hmmm I wouldn't drive somebody elses car anyway. I've done it maybe twice in my whole life. I haven't had any crashes either, I'm just the kind of person that thinks if it's going to happen it will happen when I'm in a situation like that

That's true actually. I just asked for a quote on a car I'm thinking of buying and they told me about a 40 euro fear which is part of their Terms and Conditions so I assume it's in there...

Why? It would have been outlined in the T&C's of your insurance contract, you signed the contract agreeing to those terms so you can't go running to the Ombudsman when they bite you in the ass.

The double charge for cancellation isn't in there, at least I can't find it. That's why I said I haven't ruled it out...Yet.

I have no problem sucking it up if it's in the T&C's.

Learnt my lesson anyway. i usually only deal direct with the companies. It's the old story...Ya get what ya pay for

That's funny, I changed my insurance temporarily last week for 3 days, TPFT and it cost €10 which is to cover admin, I don't like paying the €10, it was free with my last insurance company, but €10 isn't too bad

The fees are not in question here, they are still cheaper than Axa or whatever "quality" insurers.
I personally had trouble with AXA for over 2 years until i got my money back thanks to my solicitor, so I would love to read more stories about the claims here.
