Where is best for a savings account?

Sorry if this question has been asked a million times. I'm lucky enough with my current job to be able to put some money aside each month for savings. It won't be a fixed amount about each month as I get expenses which vary month on month and I was going to try and save them instead of lodging them into my current account.
I'm just wondering where would be my best option: a bank (currently with AIB), credit union or post officer??
    Thanks all adivse is welcome!!

I think the finance pages in the Indo on Mondays have a table showing the current interest rates.
