    Hi, do the social welfare still offer the back the work scheme.?

    Yes they do,they run 2 variations of the scheme

    back to work enterprise allowance - if you're entitled to jsa or other qualifying payment and been on it a year you can get it - lasts 2 years - 1st year 100 percent of your dole and second 75 percent

    short term enterprise allowance - you can go on it immediately i believe if you're on jsb - lasts as long as your jsb does

    you can also avail of technical and training funding,it's a grant of up to 1000 euro,you dont have entitlement to it but if they've got it you'll get it

    I asked about this about 6months ago and they said they dont do this anymore in my local dole office (due to lack of funds)...strange.

    Id check back every so often,they run out of money but it's replenished every so often during the year
