Getting rid of carpet odor

Had a bit of leak and the carpet in the sitting room got wet, I removed the water from the carpet and removed the underlay and let the carpet and concrete dry out, put down new underlay and put the carpet back down, I then had the carpet professionally cleaned but the odor remained, I got carpet cleaners back twice to try…

Had a bit of leak and the carpet in the sitting room got wet, I removed the water from the carpet and removed the underlay and let the carpet and concrete dry out, put down new underlay and put the carpet back down, I then had the carpet professionally cleaned but the odor remained, I got carpet cleaners back twice to try and remove the odor, It’s not that bad of a smell but its annoying nonetheless.

Anyone got any good tips I can try my self?
I have read that baking soda and some lavender left on the carpet over night and vacuumed up the next day can be very effective.

Any ideas welcomed

Baking soda is usually the easiest and quickest solution for carpet odors. Just sprinkle some baking soda on your carpet, let it sit for 30 minutes, and vacuum it up.
