Skoda Radio/Clocks problem

Hi all. Drive a 00 reg Skoda Octavia. In the last few weeks the radio has started to cut out. Head unit stays powered up but speakers die. And today the instrument panel also died. Speedo, Rev's, Fuel and Water Gauge all died. Needles just fell back to zero at the same time. Then near home radio came back but clocks stayed…

Hi all. Drive a 00 reg Skoda Octavia. In the last few weeks the radio has started to cut out. Head unit stays powered up but speakers die. And today the instrument panel also died. Speedo, Rev's, Fuel and Water Gauge all died. Needles just fell back to zero at the same time. Then near home radio came back but clocks stayed at zero. Got home turned ignition off and re-started. Radio gone again and after 10 seconds clock's came back to life.

Are these problems linked? Maybe bad earth???

If earth is issue is this hard to rectify?
