New install - Patch loops indefinitely

Did a clean wipe of my OS, got around to installing SC2, installed fine, started up, patch 1.2.0 screen, fine. Thing is, it patches, then the play button is greyed out, then when I reopen it, does the same thing, for infinity

I reinstalled and it did the same again, but on the patch window, it says v1.1.0.1, so I thought, maybe I need to let it work it's way to 1.2.0? Ok, so I did, still, it doesn't finish patching 100%

My internet is fine, never had any problems patching it before or anything

I am manually downloading the patch now in the hope it does work, I'm majorly stuck if it doesn't =[

Any ideas?

did you terminate the blizzard service before re-opening the updater?

you say the play button is greyed out.

close the updater.

press alt ctrl del

terminate all blizzard services running.

then re-open sc2. update should finish and play button should appear clickable.

Got it too load, then crash =/

ive got a strange install and it works fine.

ive an encrypted harddrive. on the encrypted drive there is another encrypted partition. i have sc2 installed in there. it has serious problems writing files sometimes, but lately its worked a treat.

blizzard have so many ****in problems with just getting the game to run not to mention the ladder and balance issues...

anyway, hope u get it sorted dude. dont want u to such too bad at the lan

Still having problems downloading it? Firewalls are usually the main problem with blizzards games updaters. If its crashing when installing, try going to starcraft II directory @ "C:\Program Files (x86)\StarCraft II\Support" (thats what directory location is for me) and click the repair application. That has always fixed my version problems for blizzard games replacing missing and curropt files etc

Got it working now, turns out I had to leave it for a while to let it install ALL the patches xD
