Hi this is probably a how long is a length of string question but here goes. To gain rent supplement one method of doing so is obviously to have your housing need assessed by the local authority and if you are deemed eligible it's a done deal.

I was just wondering how long roughly would someone have to wait to have their housing need assessed in Dublin City Council say? Or is it wildly dependent on your situation?

its far from a done deal. rent supplement is a highly complex payment. for example you have to be on a social welfare payment, not be working in excess of a combined number of 30 hours per week, have been able to afford the rent when you moved in, be renting in excess of 6 months, adhere to the rent levels in your particular area......and on and on.
