Of course any GHDs sold since about 2007 have a 24 month warranty which means you could have got it fixed for free...

OP, can I ask how you broke yours?

I eh ... stood on mine :o It was on the floor of my bedroom and I accidentally walked on it ... So, the plates are totally apart. I'm not sure if they'd be able to repair that sort of thing :/

You poor girl, what a horrible accident! Of course the warranty wouldn't fix that kinda thing, in case my post was unclear.

I stood on mine too about two years ago! They were able to fix them looked brand new when i got them back :). Not too sure if its the same company as the OP is recommending but the place i sent them to was in Dublin too.

Perhaps there's hope after all :pac:

The only positive about breaking them was that they weren't switched on at the time ... That could have been painful!

Just a word of warning..I had my GHD repaired. The cord needed replacing so I dropped it to a house in south dublin, I actually think it is the same place as above..the guy was fine BUT the cord that was used by this guy to replace the cord on my ghd was of significantly inferior quality!

It was a cheap thin flex that would not withstand any type of a burn for more then 2 seconds...my partner complained to the guy and said it was not worth the €25 charge and the guy said well she agreed to it! Well I did agree to it but never did I think to ask him if he used replacement parts of the same quality..so buyer beware etc...remember to ask what quality the parts will be

Mine broke a few years ago (the thing just wouldn't turn on anymore) and an electrician friend just had to change the plug, took him 2 minutes! I've had mine since 2004, use it about 4 days a week and still works :D

Dammit, stood on mine about a year ago and broke one of the arms. Threw it out assuming it was beyond repair :(
