    Hi,

I have often wondered if its cheaper for us to keep our heat running for 2-3 hours at a time on a lower thermostat or do what we currently do, which is run it on a high-ish temp for about 40mins, turn it off and then put it on again in another hour or so. We generally repeat this cycle 3-4 times each evening.

    Any thoughts?

Easy exercise to carry out, i'd say. Take your gas meter reading before / after your various test(s). You will get accurate readings and will be able to make your decision based on your findings.
