Heimat DVD Boxsets

    Does anyone know why the Heimat boxsets are so expensive? 70 euros for 11 episodes is a bit steep. Anyone know where I might be able to get my hands on them cheap. I tried amazon, play, cdwow and sendit but are all 70 euros and upwards. Thanks.

    Why don't you rent it? The Goethe Library in Merrion Square have it in stock.

    Thanks for that. I was thinking about renting it - but its something Id like to have in my collection also. Do you know if its the older versions or the new remastered editions released by Second Sight?
    renting might be my only option at this point though given the excessive prices that most online retailers seem to be charging for the sets.

    They've got all three series in stock - they're actually Germany-released DVDs with English subtitles. Different to the ones on sale in the shops here.

    70 Euro raw, postage if I recall correctly is about 6 or 7 Euro from Amazon.de.

    The above poster seems to have confirmed the german releases have English subtitles too so I'd imagine 70 Euro for all three is a sight better than 70 for one.

    I wouldn't buy that as someone has commented on the page that there are no English subtitles.

    There are different versions of the Heimat box set. It was released as a TV series but it was also released as a movie!!! So depending on which box set it is, and which country is was released in, it may have English subtitles or may not.

    You can buy it on the Canadian amazon site for about 56 euros including postage and its region free.
