    who are they fooling.

They would have voted in favour of the bill but since they know it will be passed they think going against it will make them look great.

People should be able to see this

    1. They are prob fooling the same idiots who will lap this kind of criminal posturing that the masses love.

    2. Yes, people should be able to see through it, but its a huge part of the reason why we have found ourselves in such a sh*t storm.

What this shows is that the culture of politics in Ireland has not and will not change anytime soon. Its funny because there are good politicians out there but the problem is that there is no motivation for them to put forward an honest canvass based on their true principles.

We will just see countless political point scoring to wow the vast amount of people who only like to hear the headline grabbing waffle.

I would love it if the Irish People refused to vote in people jumping ship in the manner in which its happening. I have more respect for a politician who has the courage to match their convictions.

As much as the green's have been a bit of a joke at times, their political naievity has probobley unfairly disguised the fact that they have shown more moral courage to at least try and show some sort of moral conviction.

Lousy and Gombeen already voted for this after the budget. Nothing on offer for them now so they will not play ball. Trying to make out they have concerns. The only concerns they have is that the game is up for the creeps and hopefully they will never have any more say or abuse their position to get what they want at the expense of the whole country. If Biffo had managed to carry on they would have voted for the bill as it, with is no concerns whatever. Lowest of the low.

Why does it matter which way they vote? Haven't the opposition parties said that they will vote for it anyway so they don't need the independent votes?

I must be listening to different media, I thought FG, Lab and SF were opposing it.

    Jaysus.

A 5-paragraph post that I completely agree with.

    they are.

one of the more interesting things about this upcoming election is how those two indys (or their offspring) will fare.

No the opposition parties have not said they will vote for it.

Labour have said they reject many of the elements of it and that they will propose amendments.

Oh really? I got the wrong end of the stick there so. Why the hell are they facilitating it being rushed through the house so. That's unbelievably spineless!

Am I missing something here? Aren't all parties seated around a table, discussing possible changes until the come to a consensus? So it'll mean that FF, FG and Labour will vote it in? Does this not mean that those 3 gombeen votes won't count anyway as a majority of the house will agree to it?

Are the media jumping on the anti government bandwagon a bit?
