By all means move this thread if you wish mods, but i just wanted to point out the following - Im not sure whether this is common knowledge or not but there are actually two walker DTT set top boxes available -
    1. The current Saorview Certified WP11DTB - Euro 99.99 - Powercity
    2. The previous WP10DTB - Still available in low quantities in at the very least Font Hill Powercity - Now being sold for Euro 89.00

Im not sure if im alone in this but i always assumed that there was one walker box which eventually became certified, but as i saw today that is untrue - the older WP10DTB seems to be all but certified, and although it doesnt say MHEG5 anywhere, it does mention digital teletext - Physically its a much larger box then the WP11DTB -

I know its only a tenner in the difference but just wanted to let people know - I did ask and they said its irish DTT ready which is what they used to say before Irish DTT became Saorview!

For completeness perhaps someone could confirm MHEG5 compatibility

Sic semper tyrannis - thus always to Tyrants

But unless you are in a rush wait till March. Also the "Freeview HD" boxes work and are cheaper.

    Both are certified. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=69105336&postcount=4

One has a usb port, the other doesnt. The USB doesnt record though. Discussed previously here. Get the 11, its based on the Vestel T4800 with a dvb-t tuner change - the chassis looks like the Bush Freeviews HD Box.

Infact if you hang on a few weeks you will see another 2 new Saorview Vestel (T8300) boxes on the market.

both boxes have usb ports i had one first w10 it had a cam with a usb port on the front panel. i had to have it replaced after a couple of months the w11 has usb port on the back no cam the w10 is the better of both boxes in my opionion, it has more options on it

There's a WP12DTB coming out in a few weeks with record functionality.

The WP11 has USB port too, which I had initially hoped was for recording, but alas no. I'd imagine it'd be possible with a firmware update... though maybe not if they're introducing a WP12.

I don't think there will be. The guy I talked to from Walker today basically said the 12 will be out in February and the 11 has no recording feature so I suppose they'll be concentrating on this new box now.
